Hi there!
I’m Kate Fairley and I created Macedon Ranges Insurance to provide quality advice with the high level of customer service that you expect when choosing local for insurance in the Macedon Ranges.

I’ve been living and working in the region since 2015, and I feel very privileged to be building a business around our busy family while supporting other women to develop their careers in such a beautiful part of the world.

I launched this business in 2020 as an Authorised Representative of PSC Network Partners who are part of part of the PSC Insurance Group, a publicly listed multi-national Insurance Broking company with global reach. Being part of PSC provides so many benefits for our clients, their scale and market leading innovation mean we are in a strong position to secure the best insurance solutions for our clients.

Industry Experience Back in 2008 I landed at an insurance brokerage in my search for an "office job" and I haven't looked back, it's been an incredibly rewarding career that continues to evolve as the years go on.

Why do you love insurance? The amount of learning involved! Whether it's learning about new insurance products, learning about my clients' needs, coming up with a solution for them... it's very rewarding. Travelling to various industry conferences in Australia and overseas is a nice perk too!
​
What do you do for fun? I live on 4 acres with my partner Jason and our 4 girls so there's always something to do, it's a big busy life we've built for ourselves. Recently I added a home gym to our outdoor entertaining space and I've loved being able to train outside with a fantastic view across our new backyard.

Why do you love insurance?
Insurance is such an interesting industry with so much to learn and all the ways you can grow your career. I love insurance broking because I'm passionate about helping people, and I feel this role gives me an opportunity to help clients understand their risks and give them an outcome that they feel confident in.
There are also so many opportunities for growth and I love that you are supported and encouraged to expand your knowledge without needing a giant HECS debt

What do you do for fun?
I am a mum of two beautiful girls so spending time with them is my absolute favourite thing... they certainly keep me on my toes! I also love drinking coffee and going on day trips as a family.

I started with a traineeship in 2018 and have enjoyed the gradual progression to my current role where I now look after most of our SME and Hobby Farm clients.

Why do you love insurance?
Insurance isn’t an industry I thought I would ever work in, but the opportunity came up to work with Kate and I can honestly say it is so much more interesting than I imagined!
The knowledge that I have learned so far and continue to learn is incredible, I never would have known how helpful insurance brokers can be.

What do you do for fun?
Well I am also a busy mum of 3 kids – soon to be 4! I also love to exercise and travel, once a year I fly back to Canada to spend time with family and I love that I can still work and progress my career from the other side of the world.

I've just completed my Tier 2 General Insurance (Insurance Broking) alongside my university studies. ​

Industry Experience
This role is the beginning of my professional career while I continue my university studies. My major is Actuarial Studies which uses statistics and mathematics to assess risk so one day I might be behind the scenes helping to calculate insurance premiums for the clients that I'm currently working with today!
Jordan organised 5 quotes for our Landlord insurance that was up for renewal. She helped us to decide which was best value for us.
