Hi there!
I’m Kate Fairley and I created Macedon Ranges Insurance to provide quality advice with the high level of customer service that you expect when choosing local for insurance in the Macedon Ranges.
I’ve been living and working here since 2015, and I feel very privileged to be building a business around our busy family in such a beautiful part of the world.

I started this business in 2020 as an Authorised Representative of PSC Network Partners who are part of part of the PSC Insurance Group, a publicly listed multi-national Insurance Broking company with global reach. Being part of PSC provides so many benefits for our clients, their scale and market leading innovation mean we are in a strong position to secure the best insurance solutions for our clients.
What this means is we can provide that good old small town customer service, with the network, support and pricing that you'd find in a global business.
What's my role? Director / Senior Risk Advisor
What are my qualifications? NIBA Accredited QPIB, Dip Fin Services (Insurance Broking), B.Comm (eBusiness).
Industry Experience 15 years! I've had a range of roles in my career but grass roots broking is what I love best.
Why do I love insurance? The amount of learning involved! Whether it's learning about new insurance products, learning about my clients' needs, coming up with a solution for them... it's very rewarding. Travelling to various industry conferences in Australia and overseas is a nice perk too!
What do you do for fun? My favourite thing to do is watch my kids playing outside on their epic cubby that we built for them - usually with a laptop and coffee in hand! - but enjoying our beautiful property and the life we are creating with them is everything.

Why do you love insurance?
Insurance is such an interesting industry with so much to learn and all the ways you can grow your career. I love insurance broking because I'm passionate about helping people, and I feel this role gives me an opportunity to help clients understand their risks and give them an outcome that they feel confident in.
There are also so many opportunities for growth and I love that you are supported and encouraged to expand your knowledge without needing a giant HECS debt
What do you do for fun?
I am a mum of two beautiful girls so spending time with them is my absolute favourite thing... they certainly keep me on my toes! I also love drinking coffee and going on day trips as a family.
Industry Experience
I started with a traineeship in 2018 and have enjoyed the gradual progression from an Assistant to a Risk Advisor role now looking after the domestic portfolio of clients at Macedon Ranges Insurance while expanding my knowledge of business insurance products.

Why do you love insurance?
Insurance isn’t an industry I thought I would ever work in, but the opportunity came up to work with Kate and I can honestly say it is so much more interesting than I imagined!
The knowledge that I have learned so far and continue to learn is incredible, I never would have known how helpful insurance brokers can be.
What do you do for fun?
Well I am also a busy mum of 3 kids – 3 in 3.5 years! I also love to exercise and travel, once a year I fly back to Canada to spend time with family and I love that I can still work and progress my career from the other side of the world.

Why do you love insurance?
I guess being the empath that I am, assisting people brings me a lot of joy and purpose whether that's saving someone money on their premium or getting a positive claim outcome. I find it very rewarding working with clients in the way that we do.
What do you do for fun?
You'll either find me in a gym or cafe (I'm a big fan of breakfast!) usually surrounded by family or friends, I'm quite social and love company so it's great to have my own little shadow everywhere I go!

Lucky me fell into insurance many many years ago as a receptionist and quickly progressed, all up I've been in the industry for roughly 7 years. I've had some time away and now here I am working alongside these girls who are almost all former colleagues - and now one of them is my boss!
It just goes to show that you never know where you'll end up in this industry, insurance isn't something you'd naturally think of when it comes to choosing a professional career, but it really is a fantastic industry to be a part of.

Why do you love insurance?
To be completely honest with you... I don't love insurance as much as these guys, but I do enjoy keeping Kate in check! We worked together for 5 years where it was the other way around, and I never thought I'd come back to insurance but I really enjoy working with these ladies.
What do you do for fun?
I am also a busy mum of 3 kids but mine are a little older so at the moment my spare time is usually spent at motocross tracks, footy ovals and netball courts. We are well and truly in the 'Mum's Taxi' stage of life but I love supporting their dreams.
Jordan organised 5 quotes for our Landlord insurance that was up for renewal. She helped us to decide which was best value for us.
